Armenia and Azerbaijan have been in a military conflict over the Nagorno-Karabakh region for more than 30 years. Now that region is in the hands of Azerbaijan, but that does not resolve the conflict between the two countries. Armenia and Azerbaijan do not have definite land borders, although both countries are recognized as independent with the borders they had during the Soviet Union. However, there has been no delimitation and demarcation for years after that. Since April 2024, the countries have started to determine their borders among themselves, but they have not been fully completed.

Two years ago in March I had come up with special border signs on my own initiative that should guarantee the safety of Armenian citizens living near the border. For each geographical situation I have applied the design specifically so that it is visible and clear, so that people stay away from the borders.
